The base will be exempt from the noise ordinances for the city/county but that doesn't mean the base commander won't be receptive to your complaints. If enough people complain they may consider some type of noise wall if this is feasible. Calling your congressman can't hurt either. I've been in the K9 (LE side) for 26 years now and as someone else mentioned these dogs are waking up to a time they know is payday for them so they do what comes naturally to them. Bark.

I know, I love dogs but not a bunch barking at 3am... but I understand that is their wake up time. Up and at it!!
Thanks for the tips. I will look into them.

Well, I have no idea how long this will last but... I was in touch with the Code Ordinace Officer and so far for 12 days there hasn't been a peep from the dogs. I will keep my fingers crossed.

This explains the sudden appearance of some very tough and gamey "pot roast" at the Ft. Myer Cafeteria.

The poodle strudel is OK, but the Shepherd's pie is fantastic!

(Our own shepherd is sitting four feet away. Safe for now. Sweet puppy. Sweet, tender puppy...)

Ah, don't think so. It is TOTALLY quiet. You don't miss at least a half dozen dogs barking all at the same time and incessently.
