For those interested in Nova transportation issues, the Virginia General Assembly is expected to vote on a two-year state spending plan today. It'll be interesting to see what the next twist and turn will be in the ongoing saga over funding for Phase Two of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project.

Transpo bill failed, and frankly I dont mind it.

Part of the struggle is over the power grab that Richmond is making over land use policies with Agenda 639 not to mention Virginia's minor assistance with a project that will reap it billions from an improved International Airport and more corporations relocating here.

As long as Connaughton and McDonnell continue to hold OUR OWN MONEY hostage so they can fund projects that provide almost no economic benefit (proven by the fact that none of the projects they want to build like Gainsville 29 and route 460 have partial funding from private entities... because these help no one and are not wanted by anyone of substance) I will be hoping the budget gets rejected with the eventual hope that funding control will be returned to counties where it belongs, or atleast that northern virginians will be provide their FAIR share of what belongs to them.

I would rather hold out and get back our 1 dollar off gas tax and car sales tax than to continue to get back 19 cents of it from richmond, and beg for it none the less
