You know, you would think that and I agree with you, but there were people who didn't think it was right. Don't we have some guy on here that says "Keep the Immigrants, Deport the Republicans"? Some people don't think they are doing anything wrong.

McDonald's appears to be giving to organizations that help people in times of need as well as advocating for equal rights for gays. Equal rights is never perceived in a bad way so they don't catch that flack.
How are they suppressing human rights? Let's define suppress. Supporting organizations that think gay rights are wrong and putting a message of that out there are not suppressing. Perhaps their issue deals with the actions and not necessarily the people, similar to an organization against drug abuse. Are they discriminating against gays? Are they physically attacking them? Are they preventing them from getting jobs? In what way are they suppressing them? Just curious as to why people are using those words. Couldn't you argue that McDonald's is 'suppressing' heterosexuals by putting money and resources in efforts to support homosexuals? I think we should be careful of what we are defining as discrimination in this country. It seems if anyone says anything that disagrees with homosexuality, they are automatically deemed a bigot or prejudice.

To get this back on track, wouldn't we have to discuss Fair Lakes, or something like that?

Wow, I thought this was going to be all about the FOOD at Chick Fil-A! I must admit, I was curious as to why there would be 7 pages on the food :/ I've eaten there before and didn't think their menu was that robust. I do like the Milkshakes tho...

Yes.

While there can be some occasional "wiggle room" for off-topic discussion, the combination of topics, as interesting and (mostly) respectfully discussed as they were, are more appropriate for other City-Data forums.

Let's get back to discussing the impact, such as it is, of Chick-Fil-A's arrival in Fair Lakes and perhaps patronage in other parts of NOVA.
