We go most often to the one in Fairfax since that's closest to us, but I prefer the one in Manassas because it doesn't seem to be as crowded. I'll tell you which one I dislike the most--Arlington. That is one overcrowded, busy parking lot.

Sterling is the worst one. Leesburg has always been pleasant.

The one in Sterling was an absolute nightmare and Saturdays was the worst, I have since moved from the Sterling area so I can't say how its been lately.
I like the one off Backlick rd by all the Warehouses. Its not too congested and out of the way.

Been to the Pentagon City one once--a nightmare, as MLV311 said. Parking is insane, and the place was packed with people. Isn't there one in Alexandria too? Or Springfield?

There's one in Newington.

I go to the one in Woodbridge for convenience. I don't find I like one Costco more than another.

I've been to the Sterling one. Haven't been to any others, so can't compare. But Sterling wasn't any worse than the one I went to in Mission Valley in San Diego.

Yup there is one on Van Dorn near the Landmark Mall, and the Newington one that ChristineVA mentioned.

I live roughly the same distance from the Leesburg, Sterling, and Chantilly Costcos, and Leesburg is hands-down my favorite. Sterling is a nightmare. Always crowded, terrible parking lot, and they make you tear out individual coupons.

Leesburg is pleasant, never crowded on a weekday (I can't say about weekends), and not only will they just scan your coupon book once, they will scan one of theirs if you forget yours. Also, SuperTarget is right next door; I borrow the double-cart from Costco and take my kids into Target too, because otherwise I can't take them into a Target by myself. Oh, and another bonus - brand new Chick-Fil-A across the parking lot.

Chantilly is not as bad as Sterling but not so great that I would go there instead of Leesburg, unless I was already over there for something else. Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think Chantilly has gas.

Pentagon City has terrible parking, but I haven't actually been inside since the early 1990s when it was a Price Club.
