I was pretty sure you did too, since it was the text you chose to reply to.
In the context of drones in Virginia. You still can't read.

What context did you find that relates to American citizens who've joined Al-Qaida and their affiliates? The record shows that this IS the bit of text you singled out to reply to. Why did you do that?

No, I can read that as well and of course instantly recognize it as the same warped distortion that was dealt with in Post #6.

I find the idea of drones double-plus ungood.

Warped distortion really, ok. Again what's the point of the drones? I still haven't gotten an answer on that one.

I think you're all missing a really crucial point. They wouldn't be cruising around with missiles strapped on, but outfitted for things like speed enforcement or search and rescue. Its no different than a helicopter patrolling, except they can have an operator in Richmond monitoring all of NOVA.

I'm not a big fan of drones. SCOTUS recently ruled against GPS tracking without a warrant, and it'll only be a matter of time before the use of drones gets kicked up to the high court. Hopefully their use is limited to a very defined scope.

Yes, when you alter its meaning by deleting signficant words from a quotation and then attempt to preserve an appeal to authority by invoking the name of the original author or speaker, you are propagating a warped distortion.

Inquire of your genius governor. Here's his take from WTOP's Ask the Governor show...

"It's great. If you're keeping police officers safe, making it more productive and saving money, it's absolutely the right thing to do."

I mean if you are going to be using drones for specific situations in which they are needed.... so be it. But having them randomly patrolling the streets is a little awkward. As is anything with a government we don't trust.... can be good, and can be bad if in the wrong hands. There would have to be strict guidelines for what they can and can't be used for.

Does anyone know what exactly they are stating they are going to be used for?

As I guess the governor said... if for example, a drone was used to get a visual in a hostage situation or something along those lines.. yes I would agree with that, and it does help keep the officers safe. Now using them to patrol streets, or whatever... while someone sits on their but in a room, not so much. It's important for officers to get familiar, and a good feel of the community they work... not that that always happens these days... but the opportunity should still be there for the select few who do things right.

The government in fact had a warrant in the Jones case, but failed to comply precisely with its limits, thereby invalidating it. What was actually decided in the case was whether placing a GPS device on a vehicle in fact constitutes a search or seizure for Constitutional purposes, meaning in the affirmative that a flaw in compliance with the warrant would render tainted the evidence collected under it.

Soft on crime? What would Jack Bauer do?

It used to be that the friendly cop on the corner was someone you could trust and turn to. Then police started being trained by the military. They were turned into an occupying force. The rest of us became citizens of Fallujah. Have a nice day.
