It's a ways and a tough commute into Maryland. I just gave it as an example. There are districts closer to Belvoir. Such as Fairfax, Arlington, etc. I imagine the base can give you a list or you can find Virginia districts online. Good luck.

$2500 is a pretty easy find...That will get you a TH in 22315, 22310 area (Kingstowne, Island Creek) elementary schools are good, middle school would be Hayfield, not the greatest (by some people standards) but very good compared to some other areas in the country - it is all Fairfax county. The Demo are a little better than the schools for Belvoir - that said the elementary school kids on belvoir have some options. There is a bus that transports from parts of the base to Lane Elementary in Kingstowne. Part of the No kids left behind thing...the school was under performing so they allow them to attend another one. Lane as of last year had the most room so got the additional kids. Not sure if it will be same school next year, but can't imagine them shifting that.

That same $2500 will get you an older SFH further west...Burke, West Springfield where there are great schools.
