I just took a new job that will require me to commute to Ft. Belvoir from Fredericksburg. I have to be at my new job by 6:45am, what time should I leave?

Also, just in general, what time does the morning congestion start?

I'd leave by 5:15 to be safe. Maybe even 5 am on your first day, depending on where in Fredericksburg you live, and how far from the highway you are. I-95 north should be fine at that hour until you hit woodbridge, but at that point you're almost to work. Sometimes the bridge before the woodbridge exit backs up...

good luck.

Default Great!

Thank you, I'll try leaving around 5:00ish on the first day and then take it from there!

5:00 a.m. is a good time to leave. My husband had to leave by 5:30 to leave for an 8:00 a.m. job in Arlington. He changed his shift to working the graveyard shift, because it took him nearly 3 hours to get homes many times. The traffic is a real drawback.
