PWCPS vs FCPS
My wife has job offers at schools in both Prince William and Fairfax counties, which is great, but now we're stuck with the awful task of choosing between the two. Like everything else I have questions about regarding our move to Northern Virginia, I thought I would ask opinions here. Travel is roughly a push: Lake Ridge to Nokesville via Prince William Parkway or to Fairfax via 95 or 123. Fairfax pays slightly more, but the HS in Prince William is a really great school.

In terms of commuting time and cost, Patriot (I assume) wins hands down

How's the school in Fairfax County? If I were her, I'd go with FCPS. It's more widely-known, if she gets in the system, she could go anywhere afterwards, even transfer within the county if she wants

then go with FCPS, for sure...better pay, recognition, support, and the school is one of the better ones in one of the better counties in the country...

Now that shes accepted I don't mind sharing that its Woodson HS, we found that its consistently ranked high nationally.

Yea, that's a really good school, always has been. I'm a product of FCPS, and was in a similar delimma (FCPS vs PWCPS) for employment. Trust me, she mad a good decision. And it's located in a good area too, if you guys choose to buy over in the immediate community. Congratulations again to your wife
