Will be in College Park / DC Oct 3-6. Where is there some fun upscale nightlife in the area for nights of 10.4 and 10.5. Prefer 30+, martini bar / live music. Not into trashy or 20-somethings standing around texting each other.

Any suggestions?

Washington, DC has some great nightlife. Dance clubs used to be hard to find in DC. In recent years, several large dance clubs have opened up in the liveliest neighborhoods of DC, from Adams Morgan, to the U Street corridor, to Penn Quarter, to New York Avenue. Check out these top picks of Washington, DC dance clubs.
1. 9:30 Club
U Street Corridor. 815 V St, NW. Washington, DC. 20001 (202) 393-0930. The 9:30 Club features local, national and international performances. Tickets are required and can be purchased in advance. This club has four bars and the largest dance floor in DC.

2. 18th Street Lounge
Dupont Circle. 1212 18th St, Washington, DC 20036. (202)466-3922. This is one of the hottest night spots in DC and one of the most exclusive. You have to dress appropriately to get in the door. The club is a restored mansion that was once the home of Teddy Roosevelt. It is a classy place with fireplaces, high ceilings and a dance floor.

3. Fur Nightclub
33 Patterson St. NE, Washington, DC 20002 (202) 842-3401. This large dance club is located in a former warehouse, with 30 foot high ceilings and a huge dance floor. You can get away from the crowds here and relax in the clubs' intimate lounges or late-night espresso bar and cafe.

4. Apex
Near Dupont Circle at 1432 22nd St NW, Washington, DC 20037 (202) 296-0505. Formerly called the Badlands. This dance club caters to the gay crowd. There are several bars and a pool hall.

5. Havana Village

10. Zanzibar
Southwest Waterfront. 700 Water St SW, Washington, DC 20024. (202) 554-9100. This multi-level club caters to Washington DC's Caribbean and African crowd. The menu features African and Caribbean cuisine. The dance club has large windows that overlook the Potomac River. The music varies, from contemporary Rhythm & Blues, to live jazz, Latin and DJ dance music.
