I would like opinions on the Flint Hill Elementary School, and surrounding neighborhood. I have reviewed greatschools, etc., and it appears to be a good school. Thanks, and enjoy the fall foilage!

Well, that would actually be an Oakton question then, as Flint Hill ES isn't actually in Vienna. Close enough, though. It's on Flint Hill Road (what a shock) just beyond the western boundary of Vienna and about a half mile north of Cox's Farm Market. The school has always been highly rated. The neighborhood is very solid, particularly once you get north of Route-123 by just a bit. Most of it was built out starting in the late 60's with ample homes typically built on one-third to one-half acre lots. List prices are running in the $600-900K range. Gently rolling topography with lots of trees and assorted greenery. Lots of stay-at-home Mom's too, as it's a pretty upscale area. Not the real ritzy stuff, but pretty upscale. As an added bonus, when the time comes, Madison High School is all but right across the street. In between, though, come two years at Thoreau MS which is all the way on the other side of town. Maybe 10-15 minutes to get over there, depending on traffic. Basically, this is not a school or a neighborhood that you're likely to have much complaint over...
