It takes about 17-20 min to get to the hospital.... and then I have to search/fight for a parking space.

1. 1.5-2 hours
2. Penrose neighborhood in Arlington to Democracy Blvd in North Bethesda
3. I walk to Columbia Pike, take a 16 line bus, use metro up to Medical Center and take the NIH shuttle to my off campus building. This is the sacrifice I made in order to spend less on my commute due to my subsidy.

You are right across the street from me. I can understand. I can make the drive from my apt to either of my branches in VA in under 10 min as opposed to 20-25 min by bus. I choose the bus because it is only comes out to $10 a month commuting after reimbursement as opposed to $40 a month out my pocket if I had to pay for parking.

45-55 minutes
Sterling to Merrifield
car

I think one piece that's missing from this poll is the time of the commute. If I could leave at 6:30am like I would prefer to do, my commute would be shorter; however, I have to drop my son off at daycare at 8:30 and then begin my commute to the office, so that makes a big difference.

I also work from home 2-3 days a week, so on those days, I drive about 10 minutes each way to bring my son to daycare in the morning and then 10 minutes each way to pick him up in the afternoon (home and daycare are both in Sterling).

1. 30 seconds
2. Bedroom/bathroom to living room couch
3. Shank's Mare

I don't get why employers make people drive all that way to sit and look at a screen.
