Heading up to Philly this weekend. While I am very familiar with the area and various routes, I haven't traveled up there on a weekend in a while. So, has anyone made the trip up 95 (on a Saturday afternoon) or down 95 (late on a Sunday afternoon) this summer?

Any specific traffic/ construction? Will I get caught up in beach traffic at all?

I know I have various options (PA turnpike or 695 (Balt beltway) West to 15 S), but that will take longer. Just trying to understand if 95 should be pretty clear at those times.

We go back to Philly once a month, because that is originally where I am from. I've never driven up there during the day, we normally go at night to avoid traffic (which doesn't always work). We take 95/495 up the entire time. We like to leave on a Friday night around 8pm, we make it to my parents' house around 10:30...earlier if my husband is driving I've never tried a different way to get there, even though we sometimes have to make detours due to road congestion.

It gets bad around the Elkton/Newark (DE) area where it splits off to 295 for the Delaware bridge, and also at the tolls when crossing into Delaware. They now have a high-speed toll there, but it seems that only a few people know how to use it.
