It gets old after the second trip.. the hot dogs will disappoint.
We had two Sonics about 16 miles apart.. both have closed down. the novelty wears off after you've eaten...
HOWEVER there are some that will beg to differ..and of course, we all have different food standards.

I gotta agree here. I had Sonic closeby while living in Louisville and after two or three trips the food wasn't really worth the trip. Felt like eating at other chains. Now Zaxby's is a total different story for me.

I would drive miles just for the chocolate malts. They have some great ice cream! Never was a fan of limeades. Sprite with lime or lime and cherry just isn't that great...oh, and I miss the onion rings. Don't care about the burgers or the coney dogs. A chocolate malt and onion rings sounds so good right now!

The real question is if the servers use rollerblades or just walk to the car...

Yes!! The ice is amazing!

I've only had Sonic once and it was better than I expected. However one in Woodbridge won't really be that close to us.

What's with the ice???

We've been stopping at Sonic (for the kids) when we travel between Chapel Hill and NoVA. There are 3 Sonics enroute. I agree with others that the food is just fair. Grilled cheese is mushy. That's all I eat as I'm a vegetarian. The kids like the corn dogs and tater tots - not exactly healthy fare. I will say that the real fruit lemon-berry slush is yummy!

As Sonic is a highlight for my wife (and to a lesser degree, myself) when we travel cross-country, she will probably appreciate the "shorter" commute from Alexandria.

I fail to see the thrill because a Sonic is coming here. I've done them a few times and have never really been impressed with their food. The shakes were good though.

Their slushies are good but that's about it. There burgers really aren't anything to write home about and neither are their fries. I think people will flock to it because it's something different for this area and very gimmicky. If ask me though, I'd rather have a Wendy's or a Burger King burger.
