I think the government ought to issue junk-food licenses, based on what kind of shape you're in. Look like Lance Armstrong? Congrats; eat all the Big Macs you want. Look like Paula Deen? Off to the farmers' market with you!
Hey, if it was good enough for the Flintstones.

I thought I read somewhere that Paula's slimmed down? Must have gone bulimic after those cheeseburgers.

Almost tried out Sonic while in Lancaster, Pa (mostly wanted to try one of the drinks and find out what all the hullabaloo about their special ice was all about!). But I ended up at Friendly's (service and food were great) -- grew up with good Friendly's in the Northeast. Around here, they don't seem to do so well, dunno why. I keep hoping more return to N.Va. The ones I saw last were up off Route 7 near Sterling and one in Maryland (prob off of I-95, but I'm pretty sure there's a handful of others in Md.)

There's one in Burke. It's so-so.

I grew up in Massachusetts so I have fond memories of Friendly's as well. Since moving here 6 years ago, we've only been twice. Once at one in Fredericksburg where the service was AWFUL...probably the worst I've ever had in a restaurant...once in Warrenton, but I think that one has since closed.

I always loved their peanut butter cup sundaes!

This is an outrage - I just moved out of Woodbridge!

But now I am in Sterling and nice and close to Friendly's. And I don't think it's gross. But I grew up in CT, so NOT having a Friendly's was driving me crazy!

Woodbridge is the king of Big-Box Stores and Drive-Thru Restaurants. I'm not surprised.

Wake me up when Woodbridge gets a Hardee's, Whataburger, In-N-Out, Del Taco, and Jack-In-The Box.

Stafford has a Hardee's. I drive there from Arlington every other Saturday morning for the biscuits.
