All of the above. People are still on physical and/or mental vacation right now.

LOL yeah, it's funny how many Nats logos are starting to appear here and there now that they're having a good season. I may have to change my smartypants reply--the next time a pollster calls I'll say I'm voting for Zimmerman! No, Espinosa! No wait, Werth (but only if he shaves before actually moving into the White House)

It's because the Steelers make me happier and let me down less often than the political candidates. If you like one of the candidates, you'll be the first I've met.

Apparently, there would be more Romney signs in Leesburg but someone stole them.

So far a 1/2 dozen Virginia Tech, 3 UVA, and a couple of Redskins and Nationals flags, 1 Steelers. No Cowboys or Eagles so far. The only outlier is a Gators flag.

I'd rather not know the political preferences of my neighbors, because it might influence how I think about them. This is what divisive politics have done to me. Signs trash the environment, and who is influenced by them anyway? So why plant them? I don't get it.

Front lawn signs perform an awareness service like the sex offender registry.

I remembered this thread, so out of curiosity we counted our W. Springfield neighborhood on the way to Little League today. From our house, through the Orange Hunt neighborhood to Huntsman Blvd., to Old Keene Mill: 9 Romney 1 Obama

I've seen a few Romney signs just start to pop up in our neighborhood, but not enough to warrant any conclusions (our area of McLean voted for Obama by a significant margin in 2008), other than that I live in a neighborhood where people mostly keep their politics to themselves. Big contrast to some places. I was in Takoma Park earlier this summer and there are blocks where every single house, with no exceptions, has Obama signs in the front. I'd never seen anything like this in the DC suburbs before. It really made me think that, if you lived there and supported Romney, you'd go along with the tide, plant the sign in the front yard, and then do your own thing behind the curtain.
