My daughter would like to have a girls only birthday party this year. Other than Cartoon Cuts, where else can I find a venue that offers these type of parties in Fairfax County? We live near Burke (if that helps). Thanks in advance.

I used to take mine to the ice skating rink but not sure if you have one around there in Burke. Roller rinks are good too.

Depending on age and whether you want the party at your house..

There are companies that have gymnists/dancers/cheerleaders come out and teach. We had a redskins girl..all the dads wanted to do drop off.

There is also a company the comes and teaches cooking lessons for kids.

I've also seen a salon in Lorton station that does makeovers etc. Not sure if it is still open.

Depends on age and what you would like to spend.

There is always The American Girl store at Tysons.

One year we held my son's birthday at Michaels Craft store. They have a room in the back where they hold their classes and parties. Your daughter can pick out a very "girly" craft for them to do, you can bring in a cake and other food, etc. They price was very reasonable (though I can't remember what it was) and they provide an employee to help out.

One more idea -- one year we had my daughter's birthday party at Home Depot. They made birdhouses and then we went to a restaurant for lunch and birthday cake.

Another crafty idea:

Those paint-your-own pottery places usually offer some kind of party package, and all the girls (in your case) get to keep the piece they made after it's fired.

She is turning 7.

Thank you for the great suggestions. Usually she picks places with active play (nature center, indoor playgrounds, pool, etc.) so I'm surprised this year she wants something where a small group of her closest female friends can enjoy a "girly girl" type of day (hair style, maybe pedicure or manicure, dress up and sing or dance).
