Hey folks! Great news, my prolonged job search is finally over because I got a permanent job in Herndon.

Now, I want to know what is the best way to commute into Herndon from Wolf Trap/Vienna area, besides using the Dulles Toll Road. I know that I'm going against traffic during the morning and afternoon rush hour periods, so getting the idea on how long it will take me to get there would be a good start.

Toll Road is the best option. Rt 7 would be the 2nd best. Timing would depend on where in Herndon your job is.

Congrats on your job.

it really depends exactly where you are starting for and where you are going to. There are some back roads that might work.

I used to use georgetown pike, towlston and rt. 7 going from reston to ballston on days I drove instead of bussing to metro. Some of those roads might work for you, but if you are coming from further south, you might consider hunter mill road as a back road.

Lawyers to Fox Mill - gets you to Herndon just south of the Toll Road.
