What is the rule for SF homes in pipe-stem with respect to snow clearing?

My pipe stem has 5 homes, all use the same long drive way. I am new to this.

Any clarity/suggestion is greatly appreciated.

I used to live in one of 7 houses. I (and the opposite neighbor) usually cleared the whole section in front of our houses leading to the road (being the two front houses) and the rest would clear theirs. I also have a snow blower so I ended up doing pretty much the whole pipe stem on heavy snow days. Most of my neighbors were fairly decent so they would come out promptly and help whenever we were out clearing snow.

I'd suggest talk to your neighbors and see how they manage it in the past?

Ask one of your neighbors how they have divided the work in the past.

Hopefully, at least one has bought a large snow blower. Go offer that person a couple cans of gas towards the cost and a bottle of something to celebrate the holidays. Stay on good side of person with snow blower

Thanks for the responses. I do want to stay on good side which is why I am asking this question. I don't want to have wrong assumption. Also, I am not very fit to clear the whole driveway that connects all the houses. My own driveway is so big.

I will definitely get in touch with my neighbors but wanted to have some idea before talking to them first.

Thx.

If your driveway is long you can wait until you see someone go out and start shoveling and shovel your own driveway and see what they do. Asking them would be better, but it may be easier to approach them when everyone is sharing the same misery.

Good luck!

If you run into them introduce yourself. Once comfortable ask them about how they worked in past.

Most of the home owners on a pipe stem work as a team/or understanding. Each shovels their own driveway + their share of the pipe. So the 1st 2 homes will clean towards the road while the back neighbor clears their driveway + up to the next home.

This is my problem. From my home until the road, it's a lot of cleaning to do. For everyone else, their share is much much smaller.

I will definitely have a word with my neighbors before the first snow.

Each home on a pipe stem owns a long strip of the pipe stem, not the cross section in front of the house. Therefore regardless of the shape and the length of the pipe stem, each owner should be responsible for an equal "share"... Unless you are talking about your private driveway from the end of the pipe stem.
