Just want to say how much I've been enjoying watching the Nats lately. Looks like they've finally got their mojo going.

162 games is a long time. The mojo has meanwhile been piling up since Rizzo started pulling the strings. Some of that has been luck of course, but he's done it right, and if the Nats can ever get everybody healthy and on the beam, they are just plain going to be very tough to beat.

Yes, very exciting...I'm really enjoying the season. A few years ago there was an article from Tom Boswell about the declining attendance at Nats Park. I emailed him and told him fans would start coming when the Nats start winning obviously, but that I thought it was important to do it with young, hungry, HOME GROWN players. At the time the Nats were full of overpaid free agent veterans that us fans knew nothing about. But when you start playing your own young guys you draft (Zimmerman, Desmond, Espinosa, Harper, Strasburg, etc.), it allows the fans to connect with the team more (at least from my view as a baseball fan). Whatever the case, Boswell never responded to my email, but it's good to see that this plan is coming to fruition!

Anyone going to see them play the Yankees this weekend? Should be an interesting match.

MLB bought the Expos in 2002 and didn't turn control over to the Lerners until the middle of the 2006 season. During those four years, they turned virtually every asset the franchise had into cash which they
kept for themselves. The hollowed out shell of a franchise is what was peddled to us. Toss in a few too many mistakes by "Bungler Jim" Bowden, and the club moved into Nats Park in 2008 almost in worse shape than when it had moved into RFK. Fortunately, we've had much better management and much better luck since then. The current club is an example of what can happen when you manage to gather up a bunch of things that actually might go click one day, and then a whole lot of them do. Even a boatload of injuries hasn't been able to slow things down. Very exciting indeed! Now if we can only get a fair share of the MASN money out of the arbitrators...

Yes, the Yankees have been playing very well lately also. Can only make Saturday myself, but I'll be there then...

As a Phillies fan, I'm a little bitter at the moment but I'm happy for those who are enjoying the Nationals' successful season thus far.
