How to prepare your own? I don't eat Italian out around here since I can make it better myself.

You make your own pasta? Wow, I have a lot of respect for you. Tomato sauce is easy, just look up a Mario Batali recipe. The home made pasta is what takes time, effort and skill. Hence what this whole thread is about.

It takes longer to make the sauce than the pasta once you know how and have the right equipment (for me a food processor and pasta cutter). It's really not much more difficult than making pizza dough, which I also make myself (see qualifier below). There are a zillion youtube videos on it if you need some basic instruction. Pour yourself a glass of wine and give it a shot.

In the interest of full disclosure my part-Sicilian spouse, who's an accomplished baker, makes the dough. I do the rest.

Well, I suddenly had a great idea on where we can have the Northern Virginia meetup - CAVA's house!

As my buddy from Bensonhurst would say, "Mod cut! That doesn't help me!" You must eat well, you lucky dog. If your wife Sicilian on her mother's side or father's? Makes a difference, you know.
