I am getting the same from my employer, who is also a fed DC. This happens anytime there is a weather event it seems. They don't want to come right out and say you better get your ass in there regardless of the weather, but they will strong imply it via hints. During snowpocolypse, I had to go to fort belvoir and get special permission from the emergency government contacts there so they would unlock the doors for me. They hadn't even plowed the lots. All so my employer wouldn't have to suck up the cost of paying me for 2 freaking days.

Don't forget to double tap.
Double taps are for amateurs -- hello body armor! I am a Mozambique Drill kind of a guy myself.

Besides, only stupid people get into a pistol-shooting range with zombies. It's much more fun to set yourself up on high ground with an autoloading varmint rifle and ACOG and rain down happy endings.

By the way, if civilization were to come crumbling down, ammo isn't just for using. Small bricks of 22LR make an excellent currency. I don't think cigarettes would do well in this region and toilet paper is way to0 volume intensive to carry around for trading.

I don't care what profession you're in. If you stay inside and safe as advised by the NWS you've got a better shot of staying in the gene pool. Plus the fewer clowns out and about unnecessarily will mean fewer emergency workers having to go out and risk their lives to rescue them. I heard the term "life-threatening" associated with travel this afternoon. If someone does have to go out, they should probably do so only this morning and then go home before noon. Any employers making people work after that are just greedy and uncaring.

I have 24/7 access to our building so that's not a problem. I'm actually working right now. (I swear I am boss) My company sent out the OPM email but that doesn't do a contractor any good.

What's ironic though is that some of us who tele-work full time may actually have to go into an office later this week if power at home and in surrounding areas goes out.

Bigfoot, are there Feds there, too? When I was a contractor, we weren't allowed to be working onsite unless there were Feds present. But maybe that was just a stipulation of our contract.
