My usual pre- big storm routine is...

1) Make sure I have wine
2) Think about finding flashlights and batteries....but never actually do it.
3) Drink wine

Given the time of year I'd add some hard cider to your list, but that pretty much covers it.

The bolded was what got me during the derecho in June. In my defense, I did just arrive from Louisville (10 hour drive) that same day and I hadn't even unpacked my charger yet.

I just charged mine with the car charger. Wasn't much good after the derecho though, for a few hours I couldn't even make a call anyway.

Don't forget to bring in lawn decorations and political signs. Might be kind of funny to see plastic witches and Vote For My Candidate signs flying around, though. Maybe we could arrange for all the heavy limbs to fall on and mush all the signs, there would be some sort of ironic justice in that.

Sandy's welcome to visit, but can't take any!

Everyone relax! Jim Cantore isn't in town. Now if he shows up, then we're all screwed!

You guys are hilarious! Sorry about your date on Sunday, Dissenter. *update*- Dissenter moved his date. All is well on the coast.

And the cheese guy will have to travel his own journey, I suppose.

I got some Cheezits, water and some Atkins chocolate shakes. I will make some pasta (not Atkins approved) and tuck in. Not a bad way to spend a few nights. I can't do nuthin' about it anyway, right? Be safe and the rest will come.
