I thought I saw a thread a while back (when I wasn't looking for roofing companies) but after doing a search I only found one name when I did a NOVA thread search. After doing a Google search I found a lot of companies with very negative reviews but did find good reviews on "We Get High" roofers. I'd like to get at least 3 estimates as this will be a whole roof replacement. Anyone have a decent company to recommend based on the work they did on your home? Appreciate the input!

I think I may have posted in the earlier thread. I have been happy with work done by Corley Roofing. They are based in Maryland, but are licensed for MD, VA, and DC. their website is at www.corleyroofing.com . I didn't do a whole roof replacement, but they did a good job of inspecting and maintaining my slate roof. I would guess that if they can do a good job with slate, they will do well with other materials.

Peak did a good job with our roof and gutter replacement last year. They were cheaper than the quote we got from Pond.

A "square" is 100 sf, and usually three bundles of shingles at 20 each. Don't pay more than 200 per square; total.

I second Pond Roofing. They are an established company that will give a realistic written estimate. A lot of the roofers you see advertised are really just estimators and then they subcontract out the work to some crew of day laborers and there is no accountability.
