Default Boating

I am moving from FL to North VA (Leesburg -Berryville) , I am used to fish using a shallow water boat like Hewes, Maverick, Sterling, Action Craft, 18 foot long and gas motor 50 hp. Would it be any use for this boat in North VA or should I sell it here in FL before moving? I love to fish, but do not know any place in North VA that would allowed me to use this type of boat for fishing. Any suggestions?
Do I need to trade it for a Canoe?
Thanks

Keep your boat. Between the Potomac River (below the falls) and the Chesapeake Bay there's more than enough fishin'. Wait 'til you hook a big rockfish in the Bay...you'll be hooked too!

I run a 46' Post Sportfisher out of Solomon's Island in Southern Maryland...great fun!

Any boat restrictions at the Potomac River and/or Chesapeake Bay on size and motor?

My boat is very small 18' and draft only 4", motor 50 hp FS and trolling motor.

I see that the river and bay is very deep, are there any shallow water places that I could take my boat to closer to Berryville?

Thanks
