Red face Moving to NOVA

Recently took a job with Prince William County as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Looking for a safe area with excellent schools and not too far of a commute. Will be training in Nokesville. Willing to live in another county with a short commute. Single mom, need a safe, affordable area. Any suggestions welcome.

Nokesville, Brentsville, and Bristow are both safe and affordable, if somewhat boring.

Yes, people with children love Bristow. You could also look at Wellington. My daughter did Daisies at JC Round and it was the **nicest** school.

The other recommendations are good too, but Bristow, Nokesville and Gainesville *may* be more expensive than Manassas, and there are plenty of good parts of Manassas as well. Try to stay within the Battlefield or Stonewall HS school districts, though. Are you planning on purchasing or renting?

Welcome to Prince William County!

I'm with knopfler - Manassas itself has some fantastic areas (and is wildly underrated on this forum as a whole). I forget the name of the location, but right above Manassas Baptist (above Sudley) has some of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. Plus I love some of the cape cods near Old Town, near this neighborhood for which I forget the name.

I would love to buy but I think it would be wise to rent in the mean time.
