I think Harris-Teeter is open 24 hours. I think the deli is closed for a portion of the overnight hours, though.

Harris Teeter on Duke St is indeed 24 hours. The new Walmart at King's Crossing on the north end of Richmond Hwy is also 24 hours. The other two (Kingstowne and further south on Richmond Hwy) are not.

Why would it not surprise me to find out there's a VA statute prohibiting the sale of chicken salad between 10pm and 6am?

I prefer Nevada where you can buy hard liquor and gamble there if you want, at any hour. It never ceases to amaze me what a nanny state we have.

At least Virginia does not have the wet and dry county nonsense of Kentucky.

Yeah we do.

Bland, Buchanan, Charlotte, Craig, Floyd, Grayson, Highland, Lee, Patrick and Russell Counties are "dry".

They're "dry" in the sense of no ABC stores, but I can assure you that in at least two of those there are ABC permits...
