Moving to Gainesville, VA in a few months. Having a house built by Drees in Glenkirk estates. My husband will be working at the NRO in Chantilly. What do you think is the best/fastest route for him to take.

Thanks!

Ali

Back way --> Linton Hall, University, 29 North, Stone Road, 28, Willard Road. (or any combination thereafter)
Typical Way -> 66 East, 28 North, get off at Westfields, then swing around to NRO enterance

Really depends on what time he leaves. I live in Braemar and I used to take Devlin to Groveton to Lee Highway and then jump back on 66 in Centreville to get to work around Fair Lakes. I generally don't leave until 8:00 am but Lee Highway as been really bad in the am lately. Now I take Devlin, Balls Ford and jump on 66 in Manassas. My husband leaves earlier and drives a hybrid and has to take 28. 66 between Manassas and 28 is slow but it does move. Usually once you get past the first light on 28 it moves. My husband has done that route the other poster mentioned and it's hit and miss. You just need to experiment

Thanks, I assume he will work 8-5 type hours but perhaps not.

Thanks for your feedback

More specific directions to "back way" - Rollins Ford, left on Linton Hall, right on Limestone, right on Wellington, left on University and then the rest as above.

I can probably hear from my house your house being built.

Heather - I am actually going there this weekend to finalize the contract and do design center stuff. Are you happy with Drees quality of construction and the neighborhood, etc. Thanks!

I used to work across the street from NRO and I lived in Manassas at the time. I agree with the 29 route to Stone Road, but I would just simply get on Stonecroft Blvd to Lee Road at that point and it would take your right there to the NRO office. Getting on 28 is a bit unnecessary at that point in my opinion.
