We are looking into building a home in a subdivision in Woodbridge. We've checked out multiple builders / neighborhoods and here are our final three choices:

Stanley Martin at Hope Hill Crossing (off spriggs and minnieville)
K. Hovnianan (sp?) at meadows of hope hill crossing (spriggs and minnieville)
The Hylton Group at Thomas Mill (Q section of Dale City)

Anyone have experience with these neighborhoods / builders? We're familiar with the areas and I've researched the schools (I have 2 children, aged 3 and 1) but if you have any thoughts on the schools, that'd be great.

Hubby is set on building. Me - I'm still on the fence. I figure if I lock in a final choice of these three. Then we'll continue to look at prebuilt houses. Don't want to close until June, so we have time.

Thank You

good friend off mine just recently closed on a Stanley Martin home across the street from Hope Hill Crossing (he's in Hunter Ridge). he is vey picky, but has been impressed with their work. I assume the same contractors/building sup work both neighborhoods due to close proximity

as with every builder, there are growing pains throughout the process.. If building from scratch, you or your realtor should try and view the home weekly to circumvent problems as the arise (incorrect options installed etc)

from a business perspective, I've worked with both SM and Khov. My clients have always appeared happy up until closing and after.

lot size at Thomas Mill is greater. Hope Hill Crossing lot size was a negative deciding factor for a couple clients in the past..

good luck!
