I thought I would check to see if anyone here had a recommendation for a Landscaper? Handyman?

I have Angie's list as well but thought that I should check in here for any insights/recommendations specific to the Cascades area.

Thanks!

I live nearby and am on the hunt for the same. I used a well-rated landscaper/handyman from Angie's List last year and was pretty disappointed. The landscaping looked great initially (superficially), but now we see they didn't put any plastic down under the mulch, so our mulched areas have weeds growing just as thick as grass on the lawn. They also didn't remove any of the old mulch, just dumped fresh mulch on top, so now it's getting too built up against our foundation where it reaches the siding (not good). It's a mess.

When you say landscapers, do you need a design, or just strong backs?

For handyman, I recommend David Pasette. Nice guy, doesn't live that far away from Sterling, charges $45 an hour, can fix anything. On my handyman todo list, I put a few tasks in there I didn't expect him to be able to fix. He fixed every task.

For landscaper I need someone to maintain the yard but there is some deferred maintenance with overgrown shrubs and weeds that need to be addressed and fixed.

Thank you for the handyman recommendation, it will come in "handy"..pun intended. Again, similar to the landscaping, there is some deferred items with caulking/gaps near plumbing/light sensor out (etc) that I need to get resolved. Appreciate the recommendation.

Dynamic Dave's" website says he also does landscaping, tree removal, and transplanting, so he might be able to address everything on your list (and mine!).

Just FYI, his website says he charges $65/hour, not $45 (increased as of April 1, 2013).
