Has anybody heard about this new station?? I didn't know one was being built. Any insight into Shirlington is helpful. We consider moving to this area if there is a metro station there. Is it a nice and safe area? Can anyone recommend rentals?

Theres a new shirlington metro station being built? I think you are mistaken.

I believe you might be confused with the plans to bring light rail up to Baileys Crossroads but I believe that is intended further north along Columbia Pike and is likely a decade out at least.

There is the Shirlington transit center, which is a big bus hub. It's been operational for several years.

The Shirlington bus center has metrorail like headings to the Pentagon metro in the mornings and afternoons, so it's a good option to connect into the rail system.
