Yes! Another question about DC traffic! But I KNOW I can get the best answer here!! Im driving to Phili from Leesburg on Friday and need to be there about 10am. Google directions say it should take about 3 hours. (normally...) Do I dare take the toll road, to I95, to 495 at 7am? Or would I have to leave at 6am to avoid bumper to bumper and be there on time. When I google "avoid tolls" There are other options that add about an hour to the commute anyway so wondering if I should just take one of those routes if its going to take close to 4 hours either way. Thank you in advance!

From Leesburg? Without a doubt, you should take 15N to the Pennsylvania Turnpike - East.

Yeah the less time you spend in DC traffic, the better. I might consider 15 to 70 to 95 as well. I'd leave at 6am, to give you more time -- Friday morning traffic in the summer shouldn't be too terrible.

It's Philly not Phili.

Where in Philly?

If you're going to Center City, the problem with the PA Tpk route is that you end up on the Schuylkill Expressway in rush hour. I'd prefer the 15-70-695-95 route to avoid this.

Thanks so much everyone! I took the 15-70-695-95 and it was pretty smooth sailing! I left Leesburg at 6:45 and got to Philly at 10:10.
