On Friday I have to go to court in Manassas at 9am, and I have an interview at Luther Jackson Middle School (located at US 50 and Gallows Rd) at 11. I am being cautiously optimistic that I'll be out of court at 10 and heading straight to my interview I have nightmare flashbacks of leaving my home in Chantilly at 8 and not getting to my job in McLean until 9:30. Can I realistically get to my interview on time?

Umm, that sounds like it's cutting it WAY too close. Manassas to Luther Jackson on a good day will take 35-40 minutes. In traffic it can be an hour. And on Friday, people take off to go to the beach, skip work, etc. so traffic is bad most of the day on Friday. Not sure how timely the courts run, but even if you are done by 10, I would not count on being at Jackson Middle school by 11. I would push back the interview until after lunch if you can.

I have never gotten out of court that fast, especially on a Friday. I hope you get lucky and things are better than expected, but I think you are really pushing it. Definitely push the interview or just explain the situation to the person and see how flexible they are. I think most can empathize with traffic being an issue.

Depends on what you are going to court for. Sometimes they are super quick sometimes they are super slow. You are taking a risk. See if you can reschedule the interview.

You don't say why you will be in court so it's hard to answer you. I am very familiar with the PWC courts. Getting out in one hour will be tough if you are there for a traffic/criminal case. If you are the defendant and you plan on pleading guilty then it is possible.

I now work in the area where you are heading (50/Gallows) and it takes me 30 minutes to get there but I leave at 430 AM meaning very little traffic. At the 10 AM time frame it will be tough unless you are truly out of court by 10.

I don't think it's realistic at all. Too many things have to work. I think if it did it would be an optimal situation and extremely unlikely. As other have said Fridays are unpredictable, but especially on 66. I have been in a large backup on 66 at 11 AM. 66 is wildly unpredictable. Don't risk it, just reschedule and take the safe option of ensuring you don't end up late.

66 is a gamble any time any day.

It's a ritual of mine to check google maps traffic before any attempt to get on 66. You just never know.

Reschedule the interview for a different day when you don't have the Court thing. Or later in the day. You will totally blow it if you are late even by 5 min.
