I'm hoping someone has personal experience with someone who has taken out and put in a new asphalt driveway... Please let me know - good or bad! TIA

I just had my asphalt driveway removed and replaced last month. I used Collegiate Sealers and Pavers, and I have been very pleased. Our driveway is small - somewhere around 350-400 sq. ft. The cost was $2250 (which I believe is their minimum charge to replace a driveway), and it came with the first seal coating free. Our driveway looks great and it seems to be doing what it's supposed to do, so I don't have any complaints. FWIW, Collegiate had lots of very positive reviews on Angie's List.

Sorry for slightly sidetracking. Will it be more expensive to remove concrete than it is to pull the asphalt out?

Flamingo - I am also looking to put in an asphalt driveway. Why did you choose asphalt instead of concrete?

We think the asphalt is "easier" - doesn't stain, etc. - it's also less expensive

Got it! I like the look of asphalt too. The black creates nice contrast with the grass and landscaping (as long as it's clean).

I agree, I like the black better as well.

I'd make sure that it really needs replacing before having it swapped. Just sayin...
