Hi,
Do you mean 234 in Prince William County or some other 234? (If you mean PW, ... I'm not sure it is running E-W).

If you are talking about PW County. It will take you about 40 minutes to go from the top of 234 (at I66) to the bottom of 234 (at Rt1). That is with no traffic.
golden...I think you are correct in that it is technically a north/south route.

I'm assuming you mean Sudley Road...that's Route 234 Business from Manassas City to I-66.
(There's also Route 234 Bypass, also known as a stretch of the Prince William County Parkway, and then also Route 234 proper. It's quite confusing).
From where to where are you travelling on Route 234? That makes a big, big difference. From Manassas City to I-66 it's usually much better than Route 28, but it can back up fiercely as well. In that case it's best to bounce to the Prince William Parkway (Route 234 Bypass) by way of Godwin Drive or Sudley Manor Drive, and take that to I-66 at exit 44.

234 follow-up
In the morning, i would be heading along 234 toward 95, then taking 95 south. In the afternoon/ evening, I would go the other way, taking 95 north to exit 152 (234/ Dumfries Road) then toward Manassas. I don't think I would go as far as 66. I would like to find a place to live in the Manassas area where this part of 234 is easy to reach (and not get backed up on 28 or Liberia or on other roads that get backed up) and that is reasonably secure. Prefer a townhome but alot of the townhomes seem way huge (2200 sq ft, 3-4 stories is huge), just need 1400-1500 sq ft with 2 or 3 bedrooms. Hoping to rent for a year or so without breaking the bank or getting broken into. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Oh, that does help a great deal. Your commute along 234 to 95 should be rather swell, and generally against rush hour. From Manassas proper to I-95 shouldn't be more than 30 minutes, and you really don't have to live near Manassas proper with your commute being where it is - you might be making it unnecessarily longer. Have you looked at Montclair, 22026? Might be worth checking out. Otherwise look in Manassas 20112 south/east of the City, and you'll be just fine.
Welcome to Prince William County!

Barton Square is right off of 234 and about a minute from I-95 Exit 152B try there. You should have a very light commute since you are going south in the morning and north in the evening.
