Colonial Williamsburg is very nice. I just don't understand why you have to travel because your child found out the Easter Bunny wasn't real.

Truly, all kids find out someone/thing isn't real at some point in their lives. We can't honestly go on some amazing vacation every time that happens to make up for it. (Well maybe you can)

You misunderstood - I'm not taking her on vacation because she discovered the truth, but because now that she knows the truth we don't have to ship the presents from the big guy to where ever we plan on going for Christmas. To be honest this is more about me getting away someplace than her. But since it is her first christmas knowing the truth, I still want to keep the magic in it for her, as well as for us. I will miss sneaking around on Christmas Eve...

I'm actually much more of "you need to suck it up kid" type. Life is full of disappointment and tough roads and I am fully preparing her for that, but I think Christmas is the time for magic and festivity.
