Thanks for all the great info....What do you guys think about the Stephen's City area? The prices are much better and taxes would probably be low.
How are the schools in that area? My kids would be in the middle school now and HS next yr for one of them. I know there seems to be alot growth in the area....it is a little rural for me but I actually like the growth prospects so we have stores close by. FIll me in on what you know. Thanks again!

Default Outskirt Outskirt Outskirts

Move to the outskirts of Winchester (Stephenson, Lake Holiday, Berryville) The better the neighborhood the better the schools. Forget about the city of Winchester-too much crime.

First, Lake Holiday is the LAST place you want to live. Second...whoever said Berryville is in a county and Winchester isn't, is wrong. There is Winchester City and then there is Frederick County, which includes the towns of Winchester (outside of the city), Stephens City, Stephenson, Clear Brook, Middletown, Cross Junction. Winchester within Frederick County is VERY nice and there are tons of places to live.

This thread is pretty old, so I imagine the original poster has already found their house anyway.

Lake Holiday will take you too far west if you plan on going to Leesburg to work.
