Anyone have any experiences or recommendations?

The CVS parking lot at Lee Highway and N. Harrison (22207) has trees for sale. I also saw that St. John Catholic Church on Old Dominion Drive is selling them.

Or would I get a better deal at Home Depot?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't know if it's the best deal, but I've gotten my best trees from Meadows Farms Nurseries.

Thanks. (I meant "best deal" as in combination of quality and price.)

Nope, Union Station, the 100+ year old train station behind King Street Metro. They built the metro stop there so people could transfer easily.

Doesn't quite qualify as inside beltway, but you could consider Merrifield Garden Center at intersection of Gallows and Lee Hwy/Route 29

Our neighbors got their tree at Home Depot - 7' (or so) Frasier Fir for $35. We got a similar tree for $40 at Meadows Garden Center. But the shape/look of our tree is nicer than the neighbor's HD tree IMO. The trees from Meadows tend to be fresh and last the entire month, so I'm slow to switch to buying elsewhere. But I've never tried HD.

Merrifield has a good selection and good quality, but as with everything else there, you are going to pay more for it. Always a balance.

Our neighbors' church raises funds by selling trees at S 23rd and Hayes (?). Given the goal, the trees are not the cheapest but they are fresh and local.
