Oh wow. I bet it's a bit pricey.

No, it's not actually bad......but I have to be home to take care of my dogs, so I can't spend the night.

Thanks, everyone for your advice!

From Braddock Road to Alexandria/Route 1 exit on the Beltway takes me about 12-15 minutes at 8:00 in the morning 95% of the time. If traffic is running that well, figure another 5 minutes across the bridge from there.

Yeah exit 3 is Indian Head Hwy. If you take that going south, then right as you are going off the ramp to get on 210 there is a ramp on the right that will lead you up to a light where the outlet mall is at.

Used to do the 495 loop quite a bit. You should be absolutely fine at that time and if something happens it's due to an accident/construction...the standstill type traffic shouldn't exist during the morning commute.

I remember specifically thinking that I was glad to not be going in the other direction, though!

However...clearly I missed something if there are Tanger outlets in that area now - I was unaware of that. (Though I doubt they open by 8am.) I don't know the exact time since I don't go to National Harbor often, but I don't think you'd have to add too much more time than you normally would. Of course, there's always the possibility for unpredictable traffic incidents, but my experience on normal days is that it's a relatively easy drive.

Don't forget to allow a little bit of extra time to park and walk to your specific destination.
Yup, if you're heading from MD to Virginia (where the jobs are), you're in for a nightmare. The opposite is rarely true, although it does get slightly congested at the American Legion. Rush hour is the same, just reverse.
