The golf course community that seems to look like Piedmont (Gainesville) that is in Woodbridge is called "River Falls". Kind of $$$ and I don't see a townhouse component.

[Yes, I'm quoting myself above, a first).

If you pick Woodbridge off of Rt.1 i hope you know Spanish real well and own a gun...
I am vague b/c I don't know much about Woodbridge. I only visited the area twice last summer. Once to look at Port Potomac and Potomac club and once to shop at Potomac Mills Mall. I won't be renting an apartment b/c I have two small dogs. I will try to rent a townhome w/ a fenced yard. I hear a lot about Lake Ridge in these forums but it looks like most of the homes are from the 70's and 80's. I wanted a new home but I may have to change my mind on that.

I am not too worried about a Spanish influence since my mother is half Spanish and husband's neice and nephews are half Mexican. But it does concern me that there are a lot of illegal immigrants in the area. I have a feeling that has an impact on the school system and the area. Also the suggestion about owning a gun scares me. I don't want to have to be afraid for my safety. I have no clue what we are going to do but we have to make a decision soon...

I'm not saying we shouldn't always be safety conscious, but there are some people who just always say these things ... and it's a little bit over the top, in my opinion.

I think Lake Ridge is the best, I used to live at Springfield and move to Dumfries(next to Port Potomac)and later move to Lake Ridge, and I working at Gainesville, Gainesville area is nice and newer home but far from Springfield and DC. Lake Ridge (22192)is the best so far with cheaper house price. It's nice neighborhood and nice school , many people who working at Pentagon and Washington DC living there , Omnilink directly go to DC and Pentagon for only 30 minute and justway I won't move again.
Don't go beside Rt1(22191 and 22193), those area is saturated and little dangerous.
