We will be relocating to the Chantilly area next year and I am looking into preschools/pre-K programs for my kids who when we move will just be turning 5, 5 and 3. We were originally looking at schools in Alexandria but we just learned last week the job my husband is moving into is actually in Chantilly vs. Alexandria. Does anyone have any recommendations or experiences with preschools in the area? We haven't completely decided on where will be be living yet but the school could very well dictate that (we will be renting). Will probably look mostly in the Chantilly, South Riding, Centreville areas or possible Reston, Ashburn or Stone Ridge. Any suggestions or experiences are very much appreciated. We are looking at a school with a strong program that would prep our kids to enter public schools the following year. They've already been in preschool/daycare centers for the past few years and I'm looking for something that is close to full time as I work. Some of the schools I've looked at thus far are:
Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Chantilly The Boyd School in Chantilly Westfield Play and Learn in Chantilly ABC Montessori in South Riding ChildsPlay Children's Center in South Riding or Sully Station Rainbow Child Development Center in Centreville Open Arms Child Development Center in Ashburn Good Beginnings School in Reston Montessori Children's Center in Centreville THANKS! |

Hi,
I toured the Montessori in Centreville (if this is the one off of 28). It looked great, but was very $. It seemed like an excellent surrogate for day care, but too much for me to spend under the circumstances. Hopefully someone else will chime in - or I would try Baby, Pregnancy, Toddler, Baby Names, and Parenting Community - BabyCenter - they have boards that are state by state which might be more fruitful for specific child-care questions. |

We used Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Chantilly and liked it. We liked their programs, they had good communication between staff and parents, and the classrooms were small enough. Best of luck!
