Hello,

Are there any call centers in the NOVA area whatsoever?

Thanks

There used to be a couple near the King Street Metro, but I'm not sure if they are there anymore. One is/was for Time/Life and the other was the call center for the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Join Our Team

I think Life Alert is also in NoVA (*I've fallen and I can't get up!*)

There's a whole lot more in WV proper. There even used to be some in cville, but I'm not sure if they still exist. Generally, you need to look for more economically depressed areas to find more of those.

Thanks for the replies guys. So from what I'm hearing, there aren't very many call centers/call center jobs in the DC/NOVA area?

I think there are very few call centers in DC/NOVA. The ones that are here, most frequently require very technical or specialized skills. While working at Booz Allen, we had a team in Crystal City that staffed a 24/7 call center for the Navy, but they provided very specialized IT assistance. I also believe they had security clearances.

This is a long shot -- but there might be focus group facilities or other market research offices who hire people to recruit focus group participants or respondents in market research polls. I wouldn't think this is a very steady job. More project based.

My wife works for a call center providing Tier 1 support for insurance brokers working with Obamacare. Her office is in Seven Corners and there are over 200+ people on the team.

There used to be a lot more 5 or 10 years ago but because the COL is high here they moved a lot of their locations further down south because they can pay them much less there.

I think World Com and AOL were big call centers here in the 90s. Think Phoenix/India, with some of the scammish fund raiser centers scattered around. The window/door/siding people usually employ some local telemarketers. Driving a dynamite truck would certainly bring a more painless death.

My company has a call center, we're in Chantilly VA. There's quite a few companies in this particular business park who have call centers in their buildings. We aren't ENTIRELY a call center though - I'm in another department.
