Default Have you seen any SOLD signs, lately?

I drive extensively around Manassas every day. Yesterday it occurred to me, that I have not seen a SOLD sign in at least two months. There are hundreds of homes for sale. Did you see a SOLD sign in your neighborhood today? How long has it been? Where is your neighborhood?

... but do realtors even put up "sold" signs? I mean, between the accepted offer and the closing, anything can happen. If anything, I might see "contract pending" but I'm not even in Manassas any longer so I don't know how homes are selling. Obviously not very well!

The Post still publishes home sales on Thursday, so apparently houses still sell occasionally.

The SOLD sign is just an advertisement for the Realtor anyway.

Ah, good point. Sometimes they just leave it up for a long time just, as you say, for advertisement.

The real story about real estate in Manassas is probably that the upper tier of homes can't sell and/or prices are falling quite sharply in that range. Just sort of an educated guess.

You'll see several SOLD signs in the Cascades (north part of Sterling). The realtors leave them up just as long as they possibly can!

See, I wonder at what moment in time they put these up. Until you have closed, anything can happen - how embarrassing as well as confusing to have to take down a "sold" sign. Maybe it is between closing and the time the new person moves in that they keep these up?

PS - I know Sterling very, very well. In the late 90s, I would drive from McLean to Algonkian Park every weekend so that my puppy could swim. Plus I had friends in Potomac Falls, and Sterling on the other side of 7. And I used to shop at the Target - is that Sterling?

If that is the case, that would be great! We have two more for sale actually, both under $600K now - great neighborhood!

They sure did used to put up the SOLD sign on top of their FOR SALE SIGN. I haven't seen any UNDER CONTRACT signs lately, either.
