The county was wrong last year when they kept the assessments low - many of the higher priced sales in late 2012 had not yet been fully recorded. Now with an average 10% price increase last year, the county prices are getting closer to the sales prices.

All 15 houses on my street went up over 100k this year. Mine went up over 17%. WTF? These houses have been here since the mid-80's, so it's not a blip from new construction or anything like that. On top of that it looks like they want to raise the tax rate this year too.

Edit: Oakton address, but closer Fair Oaks Mall than to the town of Oakton.

Up $27k in Burke, about 6%. Ouch. Seeing as it had only increased $2k since 2011 though, I guess it was about time. Still $75k less than it was in 2006.
