I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on this commute. Thanks!

It won't be a fun commute. You can either drive (20-25 mins) or take the Fairfax Connector 622 (30 mins) to the Vienna Metro and then take that to the Pentagon Metro (another 35-40 mins).

Route 622: Penderbrook - Fair Ridge*- Fairfax County, Virginia

or if you're really ambitious you could drive up to Whiele Avenue in Reston (30 mins) and take an express bus (Fairfax Connector 595) straight to the Pentagon (40 mins).

I'm assuming you'll be commuting between 6:30 and 9, otherwise shave off about 20-25 mins.

We need a sticky on commuting to the Pentagon, mentioning that no one shy of SES or flag officer will get parking. People naturally assume there's parking available for everyone who works there.

I used to do this commute (Penderbrook to Courthouse). It's rough sledding no matter how you cut it (Rt 50, 66, metro, bus) - and I would plan on it being anywhere from 60-75 minutes on a good day by way of public transportation if you leave around 7/7:30 a.m. :-\
