You can always tell who has been arrested on here. Unjustifiably I'm sure.

I'm guessing that's how you feel about all our brave men and women in uniform who are risking their lives in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. for ungrateful jerks like you?

Yeah.....I guess I'm really throwing away my potential by earning the median wage earned by people with a DOCTORATE’S degree at the age of 29. I guess I also wasted my potential by getting promoted to a position in my department where I now have a desk job and only work 1-2 hours tops out of my 8 hours. Guess what? I'm getting paid as I type this. Yes such a horrible career to get into. If you ever get a grip on reality, come back and make some logical arguments on the subject; instead of making some delusional statements that are completely baseless.

OP if your still interested and checking this thread, please reply and I will give you details.

While the guy you are replying to is apparently no longer a member, I have to say, you aren't really making yourself or the position look very good either, not with statements like this.

If by making myself look not too good you are referring to the post sounding "vein, boastful, proud" then I agree. I do feel all of those feeling regarding where I'm in life right now. But that's because I worked extremely hard to get to where I'm at. I thought that was the gold standard in the USA? Working honestly to advance your career as much as possible. I'll wager most people who get ahead at least feel some of that.

My statement was directed at the individual I quoted and my tone was only directed at him. So if I have offended you in any way with that, I assure you it was not my intention. My philosophy on life is to treat people the way they treat others. If you check my post history, you will see that most of my posts are humble, rational, and are very polite. That's because most people on this board are very civil people. But people live Elderprice are not deserving of that grace.

As far as my position, 97% of law enforcement position requires a lot of work and those men and women risk their lives everyday. The type of position I have has to be earned. It's earned by proving that I'm one of the top ones out of the 97%. So there is nothing wrong with my position. Plus its an essential post, not some post that's made up as a reward or the result of knowing someone.

It doesn't sound too essential, if you're only working an hour or two tops during your 8 hour shifts.

I briefly pursued a career in law enforcement. I believe most cops are hard-working, honest, decent people who put their lives at risk and honestly want to help others.

Your post boasting about how much you're paid for how little you work (including time posting on forums like this) would not contribute to that perception. It brings to mind Chief Wiggum.

Yes because apparently you know all the intricate details regarding my position and exactly how it affects my departmental operations.

Your completely entitled to your opinion. However, it won't make a difference to me. I have worked myself into a position purposely where I have had enough time at work to educate myself on investments to a point where my worst case scenario is I will be retiring with a little over $2 million at 48. If I choose to retire that is. If I work/invest till I'm 56 I will easily hit the $3 million mark.

Your argument regarding my work schedule is flawed at best. Most people would take a position where they can work less and earn more. What your arguing against is like saying someone will turn down winning the lottery because they want to work. So you can think of me as anything you prefer, I will still be enjoying the good life.

Name calling and baseless accusations are what people resort to when they realize they don't have anything intelligent to say. Thank you for proving that point.
