Anyone here have a company they would feel good recommending to replace a central air unit in the Manassas area? Need to get some prices. I've let my subscription to a rating service expire and need a few names that people on here trust.

Always hesitate to recommend - don't want to get sued if something goes wrong.

We have used SSI for replacing both central air and furnace in last 7 years + used their bi-annual maintenance service for well over 10 years. We like 'em.

We used Brennan's when we replaced our system about 10 years ago and they come twice a year to do the air/heat maintenance. Haven't had any problems with them.

I've used Woody's Sudden Service, located in Manassas Park, since I moved here in 93.

Have had them replace 2 water heaters, add central ac and replace the furnace, never once had an issue with anything they have done. I also have them out twice a year to service the AC and Furnace.

We've also used Woody's several times, including replacement of a water heater. The technicians have been prompt, professional and knowledgeable, and the fees have been competitive compared to other places.

FH Furr. Tend to lean on the more expensive side, but if you look towards them, PM me and I'll be happily be the go between with an old friend that is in a position there to make sure satisfaction is paramount.

Third recommendation on Woody's, used them twice and have been very happy with their prompt service.

I'd stay away from Michael and sons. They were very expensive the first and last time I used them.

Thanks kww. Will keep this in mind. Others have also told me they were very expensive.

If you don't mind my asking, about how much was the a/c replacement? We've just had the furnace cleaned and sealed and some other parts added - uv light, etc. - but our outside unit is very old. We had the compressor fixed about 3 years ago, but I'm really worried we're on borrowed time.

Thanks!
