Got some good recommendations from the other threads but still have a couple of generic questions. How much lead time do most companies need? Also, do most of them have a minimum weight requirement? We are moving to our lake house so really have minimal to move, a couple of matress sets, a dining room set, love seat, desks, that about it. Also want them to go to the house and a storage unit about four miles away as different things will end up indifferent places. And all by the end of June. We are going to call this week for quotes so will learn some of this but wondered what other experiences have been. Given what little we have I'm almost wondering if we are better off doing the U-Haul and enlisting DS and a friend and pay them well to help out.

Even 2-3 days lead time is enough for some movers, but this is a season when they will be lot busier than other fall/winter.

Since you are moving end of June, you still have plenty of time. I may suggest you to call the company now and book your convenient slot before it's taken. Then you can plan all other logistics.

But you need to remember if you have more trips, then it's going to cost more $$$$ as more time will be taken.

Once I used Campbell who charged a lot of money but were very professional.
On my next move, I used Full house, they were much better pricing wise but little less professional.
Next move, I would probably go for Full house.

Thanks. Campbell is one of the names I picked up from the other threads (see, I did read them!) but hadn't heard of Full House so will check them out. Right now we need to figure out exactly how much we have to see if it will be worth while or if we are better off doing it ourselves.

I am related to the owner of Campbell Moving by marriage. I think it would be cheaper and more cost effective to use U-haul and hire a couple of teenagers/college kids as you don't have a lot to move. Bigger moves definitely Campbell.
