I just bought a house in Culpeper, but my job just transferred me to the location in DC! The hours are from 1pm-9pm, so a lot of the commuting options normally use are out. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to commute from Culpeper to DC during "non-traditional" hours?

Thanks!

Honestly, at those hours, 29 and 66 all the way. Assuming this is Monday-Friday, then you'll miss the brunt of pretty much anything traffic-wise on those roads, short of road construction.

Your off rush hours work schedule really helps. My guess is you may run into traffic on Friday evenings as folks head off for the weekend. You may also run into construction coming home on 66 or 29 as most freeway construction is done at night to avoid gridlock during the day. 29 has an overpass under construction and 66 always seems to have an HOV line being built.

Assuming you have access to a car, driving is your best bet. Not only will it be the fastest and most comfortable option, it may be your only one: not sure of any public transit that will run that late that connects DC and Culpeper.

Even without traffic, which at this point there is no good or bad time when it comes to traffic since it's unpredictable, Culpeper to DC is a pretty long drive.
