Since this isn't really specific to Northern Virginia, you may want to check out this thread from the TV forum: What should I be watching on Netflix?

If you are a big fan of '24', you have access to all seasons.
I think 'Homeland' is also available in netflix.

Breaking Bad is the best tv show of all time. So, you could start there. House of Cards and Orange... are both very good.

"Peep Show" is a great British sitcom -- but definitely not for the kids due to language, sexual content, etc... "Saxondale" is pretty funny, too; if you like Steve Coogan, they have "The Trip", also. . "Ken Burns: Jazz" is fascinating. "All Creatures Great and Small" is a classic. And, oh, have to add "Psych" to the list, too....

+1 for House of Cards! I watched the entire two seasons in 3 days when I was home sick (YES, I was really sick)

Orange is the New Black is next on my watch list!
