Just a vent, and it probably applies to ALL news stations but this is why I'm just tired of watching.

So Channel 7 just did a "teaser" on the guy who was involved in this last weekend's Arlington Pub Crawl. He got really, really drunk, got in a car and drove, hit a few cars and was caught by police, arrested on the street, totally nude!!

He's been in jail until today.

The teaser was: "Hear what the man who was arrested this weekend in Arlington has to say about being arrested drunk and nude."

I thought: Wow, he's really going to talk to the press? I'd love to hear how he ended up buck naked driving his car.

The segment comes on, they rehash the crime, and then report that "Charles Mack had little to say today about the incident." What the heck?

Irritating, really.

there is nothing to report and hours and hours of time to tell it.. If you're bored, how do you think the producers and writers feel?

Angry Today's TV News is mostly infotainment and bullsh*t

That's why I generally quit watching TV news years ago. Don't even own a TV anymore. Threw it away and cancelled the cable several years ago. Now we get it all on high speed Internet.

You can get the news faster online whenever you want it, and easily skip whatever drivel you don't want to read or watch. This method saves money, time, and aggravation, and may even help save your sanity.

Feed your head,
Dan

It's true. I only watch the news for entertainment purposes these days.

In case you'll still curious, I read that the man took all his clothing off inside a bar, then went out and got into his car. That's the how. The why is unanswered (other than "lots of alcohol").

I stopped watching local news many years ago for this reason, because they spend the whole show hyping something that turns out to not be very exciting, or reported in a shallow way. When ER used to be on at 10:00 pm, I would sometimes get sucked into watching the 11:00 news (because otherwise I didn't have the TV on that late), and then always regret it because the news broadcast was so dull that I would fall asleep before whatever the overhyped news item was.

Isn't it amazing that we're all living through a time where in just a decade or two (due to the Internet) we've seen numerous industries, business models, and ways of living completely disrupted/changed/obliterated. This is just one example out of many. I mean, name a vertical that hasn't been significantly affected in some facet... Fascinating times.

I feel this sums up cable and online news pretty well: I went on a scavenger hunt for news on CNN.com. It didn't go well. - Imgur
